It is believed that the more time you have, the more money you can make. So, it’s everyone’s wish to have more working time, because this way we could earn more. But how to have more time? I mean not just additional time to dedicate to your work but to personal matters, as well. Let me start by saying that it is possible. In this article, I’m going to share my most useful tips. If you follow them, you will develop the skills and habits needed for proper time management and realize that you have “more” time to complete your everyday activities.
This applies to both your professional and personal life – unnecessary things keep penetrating into your schedule stealing much of your precious time. So, what do you call unnecessary? Generally, these are the things and activities that hamper your progress. Procrastination is your biggest enemy. Do you remember one of those moments when you start your morning by checking the e-mails and suddenly find yourself scrolling down the newsfeed on Facebook? That is what I call unnecessary.
If you have no plan for the day, you know what you will achieve? Nothing. No plan – no achievements. So, my advice for you: spend some ten minutes a day on planning your daily activities. Moreover, note them down. You can use notebooks, iPhone apps, online tools – whatever works for you. I prefer planning my working day while commuting. I can say this is the biggest contribution to the effective time management.
Although many people say multitasking is great and everyone should learn it, you have to understand whether you can do it before trying to develop the skill. Sure, such a talent is useful but it is only appropriate for people with certain type of character. If multitasking is not right for you, you will only become more distracted. You will find yourself discouraged because you start many projects and finish none of them on time. Time management strategies are all about being more effective, not unsatisfied and stressed.
Regardless of the type of work you do, these time management tips will help you use your working time better to achieve more and just do the things you want to do.
